SOCIAL WORK WEEK - March 15 - 21, 2009

March 15 - 21 has been declared Social Work Week in Saskatchewan by the provincial government. This special recognition of the work that Social Workers do is supported by the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers as well as the Canadian Association of Social Workers. The theme of this years’ celebration is "Social Workers: Making a Difference in the Lives of Older Adults". Please join the Region in recognizing all that social workers do in supporting and strengthening individuals, families and our communities. In addition, the Region is pleased to offer its congratulations to Beverlie Horpestad, a social worker with Mental Health, Adult and Community Services in Meadow Lake. Beverlie will receive the Battlefords and Area Branch of SASW’s Distinguished Service Award, which will be presented today at a luncheon celebrating Social Work Week.
