Dental caries is the most common chronic disease affecting children, occurring 5-8 times more frequently than asthma.
The PNHR Dental Health Screening Program Report 2013 - 2014 shows that access to dental care has improved regionally, but the caries rate in PNHR has increased since the last dental screening in 2008-09.
Health professionals, decision makers and the public at large are encouraged to resolve to practice good oral hygiene every day. By doing so, you are making an investment in your overall health - not just for today, but for the future too.
Prairie North Health Region thanks all of the schools, staff, students, and parents who participated in and assisted with the dental screening. Without that support, the valuable information contained in the report would not be available.
