UPDATE - PUBLIC ADVISORY

Meadow Lake Health Services Returning to Normal

All health services in Meadow Lake are returning to normal today, now that water service has been restored to the City of Meadow Lake and Flying Dust First Nation.

Regular services have resumed at Meadow Lake Hospital and Northland Pioneers Lodge. Visitor restrictions at the two facilities are no longer in effect. Regular social and recreational activities at the Lodge are being held. All public health, mental health and addictions, home care, therapy services and other services at Northwest Health Facility are resuming.

Services at the Meadow Lake Clinic/Primary Health Centre are proceeding as usual.

Prairie North Health Region reminds everyone that the Precautionary Drinking Water (Boil Water) Advisory issued by the province's Water Security Agency remains in effect until provincial laboratory tests determine the water is safe for human consumption.

Precautions around usage of tap water are being followed at Meadow Lake Hospital/Northwest Health Facility, Northland Pioneers Lodge, and Meadow Lake Clinic. To ensure the safety of everyone, we urge the community to follow the precautions around use of tap water. Information about the precautions is available at http://www.pnrha.ca/

Prairie North's Public Health Inspectors are working in the community to ensure public safety in the resumption of water use now that the service has been restored. Information has been provided to all local eating establishments to assist them in returning to safe regular operations.

Prairie North Regional Health Authority commends all of our employees and physicians in Meadow Lake and area for their outstanding work in planning, managing, and delivering safe, quality services through the water service disruption. Prairie North appreciates the work and support of all members of the team who provide assistance and support from across the Region.

Prairie North extends appreciation to our patients, residents, clients and community for your cooperation and understanding during our service and visiting restrictions.

We congratulate the City of Meadow Lake for its hard work and success in restoring water service to the community as quickly as possible. Your response to the difficult situation you faced is highly commended.
