Prairie North named one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers

February 7, 2013

Citing its ongoing commitment to employee development, maternity and parental leave allowances, assistance with retirement planning, and attention to work-life balance, Mediacorp has named Prairie North Health Region one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers for 2013.

“This honour is confirmation that we’re going in the right direction,” says David Fan, CEO of Prairie North Health Region. “Our employees are the most important resource we have. It’s through their skill and commitment that Prairie North can deliver top-quality, compassionate care to our patients.”

Now entering its ninth year, Saskatchewan's Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the Saskatchewan employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.

Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers using the same eight criteria as the national competition: (1) physical workplace; (2) work atmosphere and social; (3) health, financial and family benefits; (4) vacation and time off; (5) employee communications; (6) performance management; (7) training and skills development; and (8) community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

“Attracting qualified staff throughout our Region – in Lloydminster, North Battleford, Meadow Lake, Maidstone, Turtleford and all of our rural sites – is an ongoing challenge,” says Vice-President of Quality and Learning Irene Denis. “This designation will help encourage people to give us a serious look when they are searching for their ideal career. Our communities and the important work we do combine to make Prairie North a wonderful place to work.”
